Arboritum
I went to the Arboritum this last weekend and picked y'all some flowers:

Now that you have them, you can sit under this palm tree and enjoy them:

My son didn't want to leave, and protested by sitting down in the middle of the pathway when I said he had to:

You can tell by his expression and his refusal to look at me that he's serious. He forgets that he is still small enough for me to pick up and carry him, if I have to.

He looks so preteen right there in that picture. Yes, I know he's not even close.

I've never been to the Arboritum. Looks like it's a place I'm going to have to check out.

These were taken at Mercer Arboritum, in Spring. Houston Arboritum is probably a lot closer for you (haven't been there, but I've seen pictures and it is also beautiful). Mercer is free to visit, and I believe the Houston one is, as well.

My boy is as tall as some 4 year olds, but only as big around as a 2 year old (he's only about 35 pounds), which makes him look proportionally older in photos with nothing to reference his size by. In person, you can see that there is absolutely nothing to him. :)
